Magical Summer Days

It’s been a busy month for me and I haven’t had much time to blog but I wanted to share with you a little bit of my recent trip and all the fun we had!

Florida was so good to us! We had an amazing family vacation. We spent a few days at the Disney parks and a few days at the beach and we had the best time! We had Publix subs, afternoon rain showers, and salty walks on the beach.

I moved to Kissimmee, Florida with my family when I was 12. That is where I learned to drive, had my first job, and graduated high school. Not to mention we only lived 15 minutes from Disney! After graduating, I moved to Jacksonville where I attended Trinity Baptist College. As you can imagine, Florida holds a very special place in my heart so it meant the world to me that I was able to share all of that with my hubby. And what a blessing that our entire family was able to go at the same time.

Disney was pure magic, as always! We had such a blast and the new fireworks show at Magic Kingdom is absolutely incredible! If you are planning a trip, that is a must! We stayed at a wonderful resort the first few nights and enjoyed the community it allowed for our family. Our only regret is not having more time to spend at the resort. We were up early each day to get to the parks and we came back exhausted in the evenings. Regardless, it was the best few days! I loved seeing my nephews (and Colten) experience Disney World for the first time!

When we left Orlando, we drove to Jacksonville. While there, we hit the beach as much as we could. Disney was magical but the beach has always been my happy place. It’s relaxing, peaceful and a wonderful reminder of the goodness of our God. In college, my friends and I would love to spend our Sunday afternoons between church napping on the beach and soaking up some sun. And a Florida sunrise can’t be beat!

I was able to show Colten where I went to college (and all the fun stories that go along with that!) We met some friends at Sonny’s BBQ which is still one of our family’s favorite places to eat. We also got to spend a day in St. Augustine, which has also always been a favorite of mine. I absolutely loved getting to walk down St. George Street with Colten.

As with any vacation, the trip flew by and ended all too soon. But we made fun memories that will last!

Colten had to fly back to AZ because of work. I drove back to Texas with my mom and brother and that was an experience! We drove through a band of a tropical storm and hit some heavy rain but I guess it wouldn’t be a complete trip to Florida without that!

Once we made it back to Texas, I was able to spend 2 1/2 weeks there. My brother Austin was getting married so I was able to run some errands for the wedding and get in some really good family time. It also gave me some time to rest after our busy week in Florida!

The wedding was absolutely beautiful and fun. I am so happy for my brother and new sister-in-law. It’s hard to believe that my younger brother is married! But what a gem he chose for his wife, and we are so thankful to have her in the family!

When I flew back to Arizona, my youngest brother Alex got to come with me for a few days! We did a couple of different things while he was in town, but my favorite was TopGolf! I had never played before and it was so much fun. It’s always a joy to have family come visit!

I had the best time on the trip, but I was definitely ready to get back to my man and a normal routine! There is no place like home sweet home!

What vacations are you planning this summer?!
