Magnify Monday

Monday motivation can be hard to find. Coming off of the weekend and snapping back into the mindset of a busy week ahead can be difficult. I always look for things to motivate me. Things like a good hike or some exercise, fresh flowers from a market, endless amounts of coffee, house work or checking things off of my to-do list. And those things are great! They offer some excitement in the mundane Monday’s we all face. But today, the Lord began to work on my heart about something new. He gave me a fresh perspective and I wanted to share it with you.

What if, instead of looking at it negatively, I chose to look at it as “Magnify Monday”. What if, instead of looking for other things to motivate me, I looked to Him. What if, instead of approaching His throne because of needs in my life, I simply magnified Him and focused on His goodness.

There is nothing as fulfilling as Jesus. There is nothing as satisfying as spending time in His Word and recognizing His faithfulness. And there is nothing as motivating or energizing than properly seeking Him first and foremost, above all else.

David says in Psalms 103:1-5,

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

Just look at the promises in that short passage of Scripture! He renews, heals, redeems, and satisfies.

This is nothing new. Just a little word of encouragement that I received today and wanted to pass on to you. And it applies to every day, not just Monday’s. But my goal is to take a word each Monday that focuses on WHO GOD IS and simply magnify Him. Maybe you would like to join me in “Magnify Monday” so we can focus on the goodness of God together…

“Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.” Psalms 34:3

Always, Aimee
