Let’s Catch Up!

Hi friends!

How I have missed connecting with you in this way! My time off wasn’t intentionally planned and yet it felt very intentional. Since my last blog (over a year ago!) the military has once again changed our zip code. Rather than write to you from the great state of Texas, I am now writing to you from sunny, humid Florida! Before I complain too much about the heat, I have to say that I am currently sitting outside at a downtown coffee shop with the temperature right around 73°. Not bad for October in Florida.

Slowly, we are starting to feel settled. This move has not been as easy a transition as those in the past. I credit that to moving away from family. While that is a big adjustment, we are thankful to live in such a beautiful place. Just fifteen minutes down the road, we have gorgeous emerald waters and white sand beaches. We have a fun, quaint downtown with flavorful food and coffee shops in abundance. The farmers market on Saturday mornings is one of the largest in Florida and it is always fun to grab a coffee and stroll through the vendors. More importantly, we have found a church home and we thank the Lord for that. Due to the size (it is large), we know that it will take time for us to really feel at home. But we are excited to get involved and find a place to serve. In time, the church (and the city), will hopefully feel more like home. And right when that happens, the military will move us again. Ha!

😮‍💨😍☀️

Something very exciting since we moved, I am now working again! There is no other explanation for how it all happened, but God. Through a friend, I met a fellow military spouse who shared a link with me for an at-home job. When I began to research the job, I realized that I was already familiar with the organization and even knew some of the people who worked and/or are associated with it. It is part-time, from home, and I am working with missionaries/missions organizations and I LOVE it! No doubt in my mind, it was a God thing. You can’t convince me otherwise. The sweet gal who shared the link with me? Haven’t seen her since, met her only twice. But I sure did send her a text full of gratitude! This is pure evidence of answered prayer in my life. Before we even left Texas, I began praying that I would find a part-time job. I just didn’t know how much more abundantly God would provide just that. Won’t He do it!

On that note, I wanted to take a very quick moment and encourage you! As previously stated, God answered a very specific prayer for me. That isn’t the only prayer He’s answered in my life recently. I’m sure you could tell me prayers He has answered in your life as well. In fact, I would love to hear that in the comments below! If it is more personal, feel free to go to the contact section and shoot me an email. We recently had a worship night at our church and one of the songs said, “I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered, that’s why I trust Him, that’s why I trust Him!” I was meditating on answered prayers in my life and praising God for His faithfulness in answering those prayers as we were singing. Thanking Him for His faithfulness in the past, while also trusting Him for answered prayers in the future is choosing to take Him at His Word. His Word that says, “I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears.” (Psalm 34:4) And, “For the LORD is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.” (Psalm 100:5) Keep praying, friends…won’t He do abundantly above all we ask or think? He will!

In September, Colten and I celebrated 10 years of marriage! The Lord is very kind to give us the gift of marriage. We took a trip to New England to celebrate. We explored Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts. The weather was perfect the entire trip and we experienced all the colors a vibrant fall has to offer. We also spent a few days in Boston and enjoyed seeing much of our nations founding history. I didn’t drink one pumpkin latte the entire time I was there, but rather, had myself as many maple lattes as I could get my hands on. I’ll take a Vermont maple latte over pumpkin spice any day. We stayed at a cozy AirB&B for a few nights of the trip. It was off of a dirt road, connected to a beautiful farmhouse, with chickens that would follow us to the end of the drive every time we left. The house was located in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and the fall colors were at peak. When we walked out of the house, the mountains in the distance were glowing with a cozy, autumn orange that made you want to grab a blanket and a book and read until the sun set for the day. Of course, we didn’t do that. We had too much to see and not enough time to see it. One of our favorite stops in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont was Lake Willoughby. It was stunning with the crystal clear water that was back-dropped by the glowing autumn leaves. I have a few pictures below. New England in the fall is like something out of a fairytale. I’ll be dreaming of it until we get the opportunity to go again.

My mom offered to keep our pups while we went, so we booked our flights out of DFW. Not only did we get to explore New England in the Fall, but we also got to spend time with our families in Texas and that was a big blessing. We loved every minute of it, and even managed to make it to the Texas State Fair while we were in town. After such a long and busy trip, we are grateful to be home and settling back into our routine. I am not rushing the season, October and November are some of the coziest months, but we look forward to being back in Texas for the holidays!

If you have made it this far, thanks for reading! I felt a little life update was needed since it has been so long. But I have lots of ideas for posts coming your way soon, so keep your eyes peeled! The blog site also got a make-over (which was way over-due!) The Lord has put some big dreams on my heart, and you are seeing it here first! That She May Know is the name of my new blog and/or online pages and I can’t wait to share more with you! Please let me know how I can pray for you and please feel free to share answered prayers below. I would love to hear evidence of His faithfulness in your life!

Talk soon, Aimee
